Midway toward the peak of stretching Mountain,
Lushness races down to embrace her long- time friend, Lake.
Dirt Path tickles Lake’s bare edges.
Full Sun admires his steady reflection.
Cloud shift shapes as she sings smooth jazz.
Breeze bends rowdy overgrown Grasses.
Children laugh against the shoreline.
Glittering Ripples slowly speak one word at a time.
(This was a poem I wrote after hiking around a crystalline lake on Mt. Rainier)
